Uniformed Letter Carrier with Child in Mailbag (by Smithsonian Institution)
This city letter carrier posed for a humorous photograph with a young boy in his mailbag. After parcel post service was introduced in 1913, at least two children were sent by the service. With stamps attached to their clothing, the children rode with railway and city carriers to their destination. The Postmaster General quickly issued a regulation forbidding the sending of children in the mail after hearing of those examples.

Weight expectations -
“ … The response to Adele’s reported weight-loss decision, particularly on Twitter, has ranged from disappointment to outright hostility, with accusations that she has sold out and somehow betrayed all those who supported her, all in her effort to conform to the music business’s “sexy sells” aesthetic. …
Adele should have the same right to make changes to her life that the rest of us do, for whatever reasons she wants to…”
Well said, Basem Boshra!

This was my breakfast a few days ago :-)
These instensly dark chocolate & peanutbutter brownies are among the best I’ve ever made! The chocolate portion is bursting with tons of cocoa & imported 70% black chocolate, and the blond portion is made with pure, organic, crunchy peanutbutter with the addition of chocolate peanutbutter chunks.
The delicious & healthy muffins are made with oatmeal, cracked grains, & fresh cranberries.

I’m so proud of my Dad and of all the brave men & women who have served, and continue to serve in the Canadian forces to maintain our freedom. ***But my greatest hope is that younger generations will live in a world “free of the evils & senselessness of war”.***
In the Wake of Estonian FBI Bust, Have You Checked Your DNS Settings? -
Our article earlier this week about the frequency of DNS exploits has already come back in the news, in the wake of shutting down one of the the longest running and most costly botnets in history by the FBI earlier this week. The network, called Esthost, supposedly claimed an estimated four to five million victims and fleeced them somewhere around $14 million. All of that was due to 100 rogue DNS servers that were used to redirect massive amounts of traffic from the infected computers. The operation, dubbed Ghost Click by the FBI, raided two data centers in New York and Chicago, along with arresting people in Tartu, Estonia.
Well, I had no idea that tumbler was actually about setting up a blog as well as enabling you to communicate with others! I already have a blog ~ it’s my gourmet webzine, EpicureanPiranha.com. I’m still trying to figure out how it all works :-) Seems interesting…
